Bad Bunny or Good Bunny
I’m guessing that if you are reading this, you love Bad Bunny. As someone who also loves Bad Bunny, I wanted to learn more about him besides his music. After doing some research, it turns out that he has a foundation called The Good Bunny Foundation. Let me give you a little background on his foundation.
Background
The Good Bunny Foundation was established in 2018. It is a San Juan-based non-profit dedicated to improving the quality of life for underserved youth in Puerto Rico. It focuses on providing resources for music, arts, and sports for youth in Puerto Rico.
Initiatives
- Summer Camp
- Young people are selected based on their academic, athletic, and artistic merits to attend a summer camp and participate in workshops with professionals.
- Torneo De Golf
- This is a tournament that brings the community together for a day of sports.
- “Bonita Tradición”
- This is a Christmas tradition where the foundation gives musical instruments, sports equipment, and art supplies to children in Puerto Rico
My Pitch
Do you think that celebrities should have foundations or charities if they don’t promote it?
After getting a quick run-down of Bad Bunny’s foundation, do you think he should promote it more?
Personally, I think he should have promoted it,t especially because he has become a worldwide artist.
As a fan of Bad Bunny, I had no idea that he had a foundation. I just started doing research about him because of his performance at the Super Bowl, and he has been all over my TikTok FYP. Then I saw that we had a great foundation in Puerto Rico for young children, and it made me love him even more.
I feel like this is not the first time that I learned about a celebrity having a foundation, without me having to do a deep dive on Google. There are many celebrities/artists who have these amazing foundations or charities that could help so many people, but for some reason, they don’t talk about it on their platforms.
There have been so many opportunities for Bad Bunny to promote the Good Bunny Foundation. He has become worldwide, winning a Grammy for best new album and performing at one of the largest events of the year, the Super Bowl. Even with all the interviews he has done, he does not talk about Good Bunny.
I always wonder why these big celebrities create this foundation to genuinely help people, but don’t use their platform to spread awareness and donate. I believe that celebrities like Bad Bunny should use their platforms to promote charities that they believe in because it can truly help so many people. The Good Bunny Foundation could have gained so many new viewers/donors. I also thought that they could have used the Super Bowl as an opportunity for the kids to go watch and meet some of the football players, because a huge part of the foundation is supporting kids who want to be athletes.
This all circles back to the question of whether celebrities should have foundations or charities if they aren’t going to promote them.
